Droid Bionic will not ring, only vibrate. What do I do?
Good day RonLinda! I'm sorry to see that your phone is having an audio issue. I see that our community has provide several options to address/resolve this issue (thank you guys and gals! With no insurance and being outside the manufacturers' warranty period, you may need to explore replacement options. You can activate any other Verizon Wireless phone (if you have an extra one), or you can upgrade if eligible. Call #UPG on your phone to confirm upgrade eligibility. One more thing that you can try with your Bionic is a factory reset http://vz.to/1AVVQep Keep us posted.AntonioC_VZW Follow us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/VZWSupport
If it's not a setting isue, you may have to test to see if it's a speaker issue. Try placing a call to #832, and put the device on speakerphone. Let me know if you hear any sound
Tried that, there is no sound when the speakerphone is on.
May very well be the hardware. You have gotten several years of service out of it. Do you have the extended warranty with Verizon or Asurion insurance?
You tried the warranty or insurance?
Ok, if your speaker is not working it does seem like a hardware issue. If you have extended warranty coverage, this can be covered. This depends on the device being free of any physical or liquid damage, if the device has had any maint done by someone who is not the manufactuer, or any manipulation of the software. If your device is not covered under warranty, it may be worth it to find out if you have an upgrade or if you could make an insurance claim. I hope my answer helps you!
We have no warranty or insurance. Can the phone be fixes?
The only way the device can possibly be fixed would be to contact the manufacturer. Because of the release date of the device, they may not have replacement parts. Replacement would be an option at that point.
You can also try the local Fix it shops like U-Break I-Fix. They can do many repairs on these phones and they do it in the matter of a day or so (usually while you wait) but I would call them to look at the phone first, they may need to order the part(s) and you would bring it back when the parts arrived.
