Why will my phone not send any texts? When I try to send one it says message failed.

I was receiving texts as of yesterday but today when I try to send a text it tells me message failed would I like to try again. I received a text this morning but can not reply to it. It isn't blocked because I tried sending a text to myself and that won't work either.

Remove SIM and power down. Reinsert and power on. That's the fastest easiest method to try first.

I tried that already. I tried removing the battery and removing the SIM. I tried turning on/off airplane mode etc. Any other suggestions?

Try a different app perhaps. Hangouts can send texts as can Verizon Messages +.

It tells me the data network is unavailable. Does that mean the system is down and it isn't just me or my phone?

Are you able to surf the net or sync any information on mobile data with wifi off?

Otherwise I might call Verizon to make sure text provisioning is not improperly configured. Snafus happen, even when we think things are automated.
