Here's the fix - I read about this on another blog and this worked for me - Uninstalling updates for "Android System WebView".
You can set all your apps to only update manually by opening your Play Store app, tap the menu button in the upper left-hand corner, tap Settings, tap Auto-Update Apps, then check Do Not Auto-Update Apps. Then when you're notified that you have updates to apps, you can pick and choose which ones you want to apply.
Was thrilled to read this. Tried it. Literally two minutes later the phone downloaded the update for it again. Just went back to uninstall updates again and see if there is a way to make it not automatically update itself but there's not an obvious way.
