why cant i get attachments with text messages?
Like pictures in an MMS? Do you have your data enabled? What about MMS settings in the messaging app you use? Are those enabled? What phone are you using?
droid turbo--have had a few months--was working fine and now cant get attachments--using green messaging icon
Are you trying to receive MMS? Is your data enabled? Any apps with restricted background data?
yes,yes and not sure...what do u mean by restricted background data?
If an app has any restricted background mobile data set, it will not access mobile data. It was a thought, but most likely not an issue here if you have a data connection. You might try another texting app like Verizon Messages or Hangouts. Vzw Messages can send mms over WiFi. Hangouts sends via data. If VM lets you receive over mobile data or if Hangouts allows to receive over data, then I would wonder what is wrong with the stock app.
yes, yes and not sure...
Go to menu > settings to where it shows Wireless & Networks at the bottom click more... Then click on Mobile Networks. Make sure there is a check in Data Enabled.
Also Verizon has a size limit for mms.
What is the message size limit for MMS?
MMS message size must be less than 1.2MB. This includes text, picture and video messages.
This could be the problem? Some of these smartphones are using large picture sizes by default. For example the Droid Maxx takes a still image .jpg between 3 to 6 MB in size which is huge for that type file.
So the work around with that is using a photo resizer app. Also I read somewhere that certain file types are not supported.
Generally, smartphones resize the photos taken at fullsize to a compressed version suitable for messages by default.
thx ,,did check and data enable...like i mentioned, i was getting attachments previously and then stopped about a week ago...dont get too many but now its starting to get annoying
