Not recieving (ordinary) duplicate messages...

When I recieve a text from someone that they have already sent (even if it were 5 days ago)(such as "I love you") My phone pops up with a notifcation stating I have a text, but when I go to my messages- there is nothing there... This is VERY frustrating. I did not pay a crazy amount for a Note 4 to not recieve my texts.. Please help me! There has to be a way to fix this!

That's really strange, cjones14. Just to confirm, is it possible that the texts you are receiving at first are for the standard text app, and then you receive the same message through Verizon Messages? Usually the Verizon Messages will display VZ Message or something similar before the text, in your notification bar. You may want to disable the main text app, so only one text thread comes through only. This can be done by going to Settings>App Manager>All>Messaging

Deleting the thread would result in a the message coming through, via Verizon Messages, as it is designed to backup texts. So it is possible for you to delete a thread, and then receive a copy of it back to your phone via that app.

Lets keep that love flowing! Did this issue just start? Does this only happen with duplicate wording? Have you tried to delete the text message thread and test out? Also are you using the stock text message application?

This issue just started within the last week. I have not changed any settings on my phone- and I have even gone back through to re-check. I think it only happens with duplicate wording- I am honestly not sure because when I go to the text it isnt there. I am assuming it is duplicate wording that isn't coming through because when I state to my hubby that I'm not getting the message- he calls and tells me 'Oh, it just said "I love you" or "ily" which are things he sends numerous times a day. I have deleted the thread, and then I seem to get them all until he has repeated his comment. (as well as other people, and silly things such as "How are you")

I am using verizons text message app... even though I hate it. lol
