My galaxy S5 dial pad wasn't showing the number. I took the battery out to reboot the phone. Now it won't turn on or even show the battery screen?
I would start by making sure the battery was put back correctly, which I'm sure it was as it would be hard to not, but it's good to rule out everything.
Then I would plug it into the wall using the original cord and wall plug, if it doesn't show it's charging I would remove the wall portion of the charger and plug the phone into the computer to see if it will charge that way. If it still doesn't charge and you have a car charger or secondary charger, I would try it. That way you can rule out a charger issue.
Worse case you can take it into a Verizon Corporate store and ask if you can plug it up to one of their chargers to see if it works and if it doesn't I would hold down the volume down key and the power key for about 10 seconds and see if it can be booted up in safe mode.

You can take it into Verizon store where they will test it out to see if you're having a charger issue or a tablet issue.
