New Gallery in 2.1, stock 2.1 same as Nexus One?

Sooooo, I've seen the new photo gallery on the Nexus One and it's freaking incredible. If anyone used cooliris, you'll know what I mean. Anywho, does anyone know if that's a stock android 2.1 thing, or a Nexus One only thing? Will stock 2.1 include the ugly 2.0 photo gallery or do all 2.1 phones get the nice N1 one (haha, one one).

Either way, I doubt my Eris can handle the fancy animation, but I was just curious. Would be sweet if all 2.1 installs gets the new gallery.

All stock UI Android phones will have that same fancy shmancy gallery. However, since you have the Eris, it will be up to HTC to decide whether if they'll keep it that style or they will change it to fit what they feel is the HTC SENSE design.

Considering HTC built the Nexus One, I'm assuming they'll stick with the fancy gallery, unless they come up with something nicer. Though again, I doubt the Eris can even run it.

HTC created the Nexus One, yes, however, when it's a "Google Experience" (i.e MyTouch, G1, Nexus One) phone, they have no control or hand in what goes into the Operating System. That's up to Google.

Right, I understand. HTC built the phone, Google designed it and owns all the rights, blah blah blah. I just mean, HTC is obviously aware of how awesome it is, so I'm hoping they stick with it (and Eris can run it).

I have the 2.1 Gallery installed on my Droid with 2.0.1 and it works great. I don't think anyone has created an apk for the Eris though.
