Just recently I started having to charge my Motorola Droid 4 at least twice everyday. Any ideas?

My phone is a few years old but I have never really had problems with it until just recently. I find that I am continually having to charge it even if I have turned it off--the battery continues to drain. Another Droid user with a new phone is having the same problem and they thought it might be related to recent updates. Is there a solution to this problem?

You could be having troubles because your battery is 3+ years old, but people have been reporting quick battery drains since the update. If I were in your shoes I would try a factory reset or if you'd rather not deal with the fuss of that, at least make sure all background apps are closed and nothing is updating and that Wi-Fi, location etc are all turned off AND I would buy a new battery.

In your case, the age may indicate the need to factory reset. If you have never done so, there is no telling what all info and app corruption has been left behind over the past 3-4 years. this is a good place to start: Perform a Factory Data Reset (Device Powered Off) DROID 4 by MOTOROLA | Verizon Wireless

As far as your friend, and you might want to try this first as well, a cache clear might help.
