How do I forward all text messages.

I have a Droid Razr Maxx (don't think this is relevant, though). I want to forward all text messages sent to my Verizon Wireless number to a different number (Google Voice), so that I can receive texts even when I have no cellular service. As I understand it, this means that I have to tell Verizon to push my texts to the new number; it is not something that can be accomplished by an app on my phone (if I have no cell service, the texts would never make it to my phone).

While it might not be possible to forward texts like calls can be, you can try other alternatives like a Google Voice number. You can use Hangouts to send and receive messages to your phone in the Hangouts app. It just uses your GV# to send the messages and people can respond back over wifi or data. You can also forward your calls to your GV# too and make wifi calls. It's free to use over wifi or mobile data, but using it over data is subject to your plan. the only issue I had was people not knowing my GV# and wondering who it was that sent them a message. But, once the GV# was added to their contacts they knew who it was texting them. One caveat is that they won't know if you are in or out of service areas, so they wouldn't know which number to text or call.

with no 3rd party application to forward the messages, there is no way to forward text. only voice calls can be forwarded.

Sorry, but how would a 3rd party phone app forward text messages if the messages never reach my phone (because I don't have any cell connectivity - no voice, no data)? It seems that Verizon's Messages+ will let me send and receive texts over WiFi, but that only seems to work because Verizon is willing to push them across platforms.

Message + uses data, thats how that app works. It does not go over the same network as regular text messages. So as I said, text messages cannot be forwarded
