So I am leaving a company in two weeks, and I would like to take my phone number with me. The issue is I have a iPhone 6 on the line that I got when they came out, and they want to keep the phone. They are willing to pay the ETF, but I want to keep Verizon. It isn't worth it to me to buy a phone outright, so I am considering getting a new number.
My current options that I have been told:
- Assumption of Liability: I will have to buy a new phone outright or a used one
- Add another line and use that to get a new phone: This option is going to cost me more monthly, I see it better off getting a new number.
- Get a new number.
I have been wondering, is there anyway Verizon can do a port on a number that is already Verizon? The company doesn't care what the number attached to the phone is, they just want to keep the phone. They also have offered to pay ETF, but I want to keep Verizon.
Any input on this would be helpful.
