I am a US citizen who lives abroad and I am coming back to the US in July. I wanted to know if it is possible to bring my iPhone 5 and set a prepaid plan while I am there.?

Yes I believe it is.
Is it an iPhone from Verizon that you bought before you left?
No. It is an iPhone that I use on a monthly plan here in Korea
