Phones on Government Accounts

So, the deal is that I currently get my phone through my employer's Government Account. I'll be parting way with my employer in a few months, but the phone I have now is 4 years old and barely works. They are willing to let me pay for the phone for me to upgrade and will let me take the phone when I leave. My question is, are the phones purchased through Government Account Plans different from those in store? I ask because my current phone has the Google Wallet feature disabled because it is on a Government Account. I'm not sure what other features are disabled and if it is sim card based or part of the phone.

I would assume that the phone you get through work even if you're buying it will have all the same government required restrictions. I would also imagine those are difficult if not impossible to remove after the fact. Barring anyone else knowing more, that is what I would assume

Can you tell us what you have currently and what one you'd be getting?

I currently have a Samsung GS3. I want to get the LG G4.

When you sign up for your own account using that phone get a new SIM card and I think all should be fine. I can't see LG making a phone simply for Government use which means your Google Wallet is disabled per a setting on their business account. Much like parental controls that you can use on a personal account. That's what makes the most sense to me, but you could do a quick Chat Session with a Verizon Rep and find out for certain.

I fear that you are correct, but I am really hoping that the restrictions can be changed with just a change of the sim card.
