Is VoLTE available in Clayton, GA?
As long as you have LTE signal, you have VoLTE active. VoLTE was released nationwide on day 1 with Verizon.
You never hear about XLTE anymore. Was that a gimmick, renamed to all-inclusive LTE, or synonymous with VoLTE?
XLTE is really just marketing fluff to indicate extra frequencies were added to LTE increasing overall capacity. There is no new technology indicated with XLTE, and is just all-inclusive LTE. It does not indicate VoLTE. Verizon used the marketing term Advanced Calling for VoLTE technology.
When LTE first went live it was only band 13. When they added band 4 they called that XLTE. Verizon is also starting to use band 2 in high density area of New York City and I believe San Francisco.
There is an app called LTE Discovery which will tell you if you're using band 13 or band 4. Verizon has band 4 just about everywhere now. As far as band 2 even in area where it's bene deployed you have to have a device that can actually use it. Verizon has 3 devices that officially list band 2 support but there's a couple of others that supposedly do.
The LG G4 and the LG Lancet and the Mote E( which is a prepaid phone ) are officially listed as having band 2 support. Apple website lists the Verizon models of the 6 and 6 plus as having it. And the Nexus 6 website lists it as having band 2 support also. I believe all new phones will have band 2 support from here on out.
