Can I roll back a software update?

After upgrading to Lollipop my phone is wrecked.  I can literally watch the battery drain.  I have been running in Safemode for the last few days just to be able to use the phone sans charger.  Is there a way to revert to a previous operating system.  If not, I may see an Apple in my future.

You cannot go back to another OS on the phone once you do the update.  The update to Lollipop will take anywhere from 3-7 days to level out as the OS Optimizes your phone and the stuff on the phone.  It has been this way since Ice Cream Sandwich. Some people will insist you need to do a FDR after the update (and in some cases you might need to do it, but it is not  a requirement for the update). Some of the builds had issues with Facebook running on the phone as well.  You can try a cache wipe (you will not lose any data) last resort is a FDR.

How is the phone running in safe mode?  Do you get the battery drain?  If not then it is most likely an app that is not compatible with Lollipop.  If still draining quickly, it is most likely doing the optimization.
