When I try to turn wifi on, the switch grays out and turns back off.

woodsrm02,Oh no! I know that this would have me concerned just the same. How long has it been like this? Since you started experiencing the issue have there been any changes to the device? Software updates, application downloads, or damage to the device? If you power the device in Safe Mode, does the same issue persist? It started earlier today, I havent done anything to software and no drops or damage. I tried using safe mode and it didnt change.
Next step is to pull the battery with the power on to the phone normally not recommended but known to fix this problem sometimes. If that still doesn't work the next thing is backing up everything and performing a factory reset. At this point it should work and if not then you are experiencing some type of hardware problem.
