No matter how hard I try and factory restore, deleted pics randomly return.

I want all of my pics to go to my SD card and NOWHERE else. Yet every few weeks, I open the photo app and there are pics from moons ago there...randomly. I delete them, and then spend too much time opening every possible place that I could have signed into that sync'd something. Weeks later, they reappear. What's the permanent fix here?

If you have a Google+ account that may be your problem, go into your account settings and recheck all items. Also recheck your Camera settings. There are other areas and files that save also for photos. Hope all works for you :smileyhappy:.

Having pictures on your phone takes up a lot of memory & so we know how important it is to keep them on your SD card. We'll help keep those unwanted pictures from returning to your phone. As GalaxyClass suggested, Google is one app that could be causing this to happen. Have you had a chance to check on that? Also, which Android phone do you have? We'll be able to give other suggestions once we have that piece of information.

I have the S5. I do have a google account. I've checked that I am not signed into any of them. As for the photo app, when I click settings, it shows my google account however, it is still at the "make a public profile and link with Picassa" stage. I don't want a public profile and I don't want anything on Picassa. I don't want anything linked anywhere. My song and contacts are the only things selected via cloud w Verizon. I even reformatted my memory card in hopes of that correcting this issue. I feel like if it was syncing through google, I would be able to deselect this option. I don't have that option anywhere. I feel like my only choice is to head to a Verizon store...but the problem is not constant. I can go weeks with no problems and then all of a sudden, I open my Photo app and long deleted photos are there. Sheer total frustration. I hated my iPhone but at least once I deleted my pics, they were gone for good. Having a memory card with an Android photo seems benefitless to me at this point.

Unwanted photos can be annoying! Lets see if we can locate where the pictures are being stored. Click here to check your gmail account http://bit.ly/1upsDDQ . Do you recall signing up for Picasa at anytime http://bit.ly/1upsG2j ? Lastly lets check the Verizon Wireless Cloud to see if your pictures are located there http://vz.to/1bmrxEU . I do not have a google plus account. When I follow your link...or attempt to access the photo app, it prompts me to create an account. I don't want one. I think having one (since it says it links to Picasa) will only further mess the situation. So no google plus account for the photos to go to. Theres no photos in my regular google account. I check it and it says I need to upgrade to Google plus for that. I may have had a Picasa account years ago I created for work. But certainly haven't logged into it on my phone. I dont even recall the password. The items set to sync to VCloud are contacts and songs.

I want to make sure you understand. This was not happening on a daily basis. Every few weeks, BAM, all these pics would come back. I'd spend too much time pruning and resetting everything possible under the sun and then I'd be OK for another few weeks. I'm include to say it's something I'm signing into google related every once in a while...but from what I understand, only a google plus account could do that and I dont have one of those.
