A close friend of mine purchased an LG G Pad x8.3 Verizon tablet yesterday and, after experiencing difficulty with making WiFi connections to her home's wireless network, contacted me for assistance.
Her home network's ASUS RT-N66U router provides 5G wireless access to 60Mbps cable internet service from Charter Communications. The router is located in the approximate center of her home, and provides five bar wireless connections to her Samsung S4 Verizon Smartphone, WIndows 8.1 Laptop, and her Kindle Fire tablet from every location within the walls of her house, But, her new G Pad, at best, only shows 2 bars, even when it's located in the same room, just a couple of feet from the router, with no obstructions.
Is anyone sharing this experience?
Does anyone have any idea as to what might be inhibiting the x8.3 from enjoying a full five bar connection to the home's network?
This is the first experience either of us have had with any LG device. I all other aspects, this seems to be a quality device. But the poor WiFi service is causing buyer's remorse. We're hoping that LG/Verizon are aware of the problem and that they are working on a fix that will be be made available RSN (Real Soon Now).
Thank you.
