First let me say I love my Droid Maxx-
But I am on my third Maxx-
First one the GPS sensor stopped working and the last 2 have developed the same problem- the front facing camera and the flash/flashlight options stop existing. the camera will only take selfies
Let me run through the whole story-
Last Wed I went to the store to demonstrate that my phone was broken for the third time- They wiped my phone and could not get me a new one. They notated my account and told me to call customer service to get a replacement. Being a person that needs my phone on a daily basis I set my phone up again.
After I left the store I called and asked for a replacement phone. I was under the impression from the customer service agent that since I had had problems with 3 handsets in a very short period of time he would be able to get me a brand new phone under the warranty replacement program instead of the certified like new replacements. I have since learned that he extended my contract without my permission or informing me. I am not really happy about that.
When the phone arrived today it was red- I did’t want a red phone so I called in and asked customer service what happened. He said I could go to the store to fix it. The box came without a return label which I told him was weird- I asked him if it was a warranty replacement phone or an upgrade phone and he said it was a warranty phone (which I later found out was wrong.) I went to the store to swap out the phone.
The store gave me a new black phone and took the red phone back- (second trip to the verizon store)
I got home and loaded up the new phone and even put on my last screen protector - I setup a phone for the 2nd time in three days and wiped my old phone to send it back. - then I found out the replacement was a 16 GB version and I had previously had a 32 GB version and my data didn’t fit.
I called customer service to tell them I was sent a 16GB phone instead of the 32GB version I had previously. They did some research and said that the original rep had had put in for a new phone not a warranty replacement, extending my contract and that the new Droid Maxx only comes in 16 GB. They said I had to go back to the store, return the phone, then call customer service to get my contract back to normal. After that is all back to normal, Then I need to call in and get a proper CLNR (certified like new replacement) of my phone.
So I got my old phone out of the box which I had erased to send back and set it up again (third time I have set up a phone this week)
SO this weekend I will be making my 3rd trip to the Verizon store to return the new phone that I never asked for, which has my last screen protector on it so that I can be back to the same place I Was last Wednesday. I still have a broken phone and with hours of my time gone and multiple trips to the Verizon store with no resolution to my original problem and without a screen protector for the new phone that I might get sometime next week-
I have been a Verizon advocate my whole life but this is not one of the more stellar experiences.
Signed one very unhappy Verizon Customer-
