My LG G3

My phone is horrible. I am so very unhappy with this phone. I wish I would have stuck with my IPhone. I've talked with Verizon and I understand that there is nothing they can do for me. Unless I want to pay full price for a phone. Which, I think for how disposable phones are these days that the full price should be half of what it is now. Has anyone considered moving to Sprint? I know Verizon has the best service around. I know thats what I'm paying for but I wish I was paying for Customer Service to make their customers happy....

Keep in mind that we don't manufacture the phones and have to purchase them from the manufacturers too. We then extend discounts based on completing the 2 year agreement or gie the option to start a new device on Verizon Edge when you qualify. If you're truly unhappy with your phone, we do have a trade in program at http://www.verizonwireless.com/landingpages/device-recycling that you can use the value of a phone toward the purchase of something new with us or there's always the option to buy a phone from a 3rd party without a contract. We are here to help with alternatives too. What is it you don't like about your G3 that has you wanting to change so bad you're contemplating the switch?

You had 14 days from the date of purchase to return the phone, less the $35 restocking fee. Was customer service rude to you or did you simply not like what they told you? If they were rude you should definitely alert Verizon to the issue.

As for moving to Sprint, your coverage would be less, so consider how often you travel and not just outside the state, but to and from work, friends houses, family etc. Also know that if you were in the same boat you're in now and on Sprint, you'd not only be told the exact same thing Verizon said, but you'd also be getting less service coverage.

What is it you don't like about the LG G3? Moving from the iPhone to an Android is traumatic, but moving the LG seems even more so; I personally don't like the functions or rather am just not use to them.

Verizon is partly incorrect though, you could buy a used phone and sell the LG G3 to cover the cost. Depending on the condition of the phone you could get $250 - $350 for it. You'd pay about the same for an iPhone 5s.

Yes, you're right, I had 14 days to decide and at the time the phone was great. It's taken me 6 months to realize I don't like the phone. I know it is totally on me but that doesn't make me any happier with the phone. I do think that Verizon should reconsider the 14 days because really, I don't see how you can get a good handle on a phone in 2 weeks.

I was thinking of moving to Sprint because they will pay my early termination fees and give me and IPhone 6. I know there coverage is lacking but I'm trying to weigh that against spending the next 1.5 years with a phone I'm not happy with and spending less money on my phone bill a month. It's a toss up for me.

I really wish that Verizon would have some sort of trade in option. I wouldn't mind spending a little on an IPhone if I knew I could trade my current phone in to cover some of the cost. Just ideas. I am in NO WAY unhappy with Verizon's coverage or service, just the policies they have with the phones. I mean, they have me for 2 years, you would think they'd want me to stay happy...

I'd agree, 2 weeks is a short time with a phone to "get to know it." I believe Sprint has the same exact policy. I'm guessing it's only 2 weeks in order to keep billing problems at bay; if you kept it longer you'd get a bill and on new contracts you also get to cancel the service within that 14 day time period without any early termination fees.

Sprint is cheaper, but something to keep in mind is you typically also have to sign up for one of their more expensive plans. Verizon for example has stipulations like you have to do the More Everything plan (multi-line) port over a number, be on a plan of 8GB and higher etc. Whatever you choose, just make sure to read the fine print.

You can get the phone to cover the cost. While my prices aren't a sure thing, it would get you an iPhone 5. If you had the LG G4 it would sell for an amount to buy you an iPhone 6 without fronting any money.

I don't even know where to begin to tell you how unhappy I am with this phone. It's huge (granted I thought I'd like that when I got it). The texting keyboard is terrible or maybe my hands are just too small for it. The battery life is ridiculous. I've taken it into my Verizon store and they've told me all my settings are fine and that the battery shouldn't be dying like it does. My texts are very delayed. Sometimes I'm not receiving text from friends at all. I really miss my IPhone. For me, nothing compares to it. It just took me 6 months to figure that out :smileysad:. I understand that you have the trade in program and I'm sorry but thats almost laughable. It offered me $98 for a 6 month old LG G3. I could sell it for $300 or more. However, then that leaves me without a phone until it sells. Anyway, not a lot is going to make me happy in this situation unless I figure out a way to get an IPhone. I'd be happy with a 5s. I dont need the newest and greatest. I'll keep looking and hopefully I can come up with a solution before it makes me totally crazy. Thanks for trying to help me.

I have to tell you that I am in total agreement with you about the LG G3. This was the worst phone I've ever had. I had an LG in the past, and I did not have problem with it. As far as Android in general, I have enjoyed each experience with them as well. The Motorola Droid Ultra was great!

People always say they cannot hear me. The phone was replaced. People still claim that they cannot hear me. Verizon responded in various ways and replacing the first one was great. I was advised to hit ## after those calls and did so when I remembered. But, it's a lot to pay for a phone that doesn't work well. I am considering going to Sprint, but like you, otherwise have been happy with service, though the prices are making me pause as well.

I have another friend who got the LG a couple of weeks prior to mine. She had the same problem but is content to 1) use and ear bud or 2) use a speaker which seems to alleviate the problem.

Often a factory reset, especially if you've updated to lollipop 5.0 will resolve a lot of issues. That and when 5.1 comes out they will have hopefully fixed a lot of bugs (and introduced a few more.)

It's really sad that this is the best that can be done for us. I know that there are rules and everyone must follow them. It sucks that I have to pay my bill today and I pay a pretty penny to have 2 phone lines and a tab, and have to be this unhappy with it. I'm sorry to say that I am glad I'm not the only one with these issues. I'm working on getting an IPhone. Either Ebay or Sprint should come through for me. we're also at looking at replacing my screen on my iPhone 5S and then just having me use that one and purchasing a phone via ebay for my husband -but currently he's researching other company's as there seems to be tons of problems with the LG G3...yet Verizon can't do anything for anyone, very well knowing how unhappy everyone is with the phone. It sucks that we're literally stuck in this contract with apparently the worst phone in LG's package.

There has been call quality issues with the LG G line of phones since they came out. I bought the G2, had it for a week and dropped 4 calls. I had never dropped phone calls. Luckily I took it back and got a motorola. The tech then even told me they had known call issues with the G line of phones, which they were hoping would be corrected with the G3. Guess not. FWIW I've been reading a lot of threads, and w.r.t. Dropped Calls, it seems the number one factor is the use of Advanced Calling. Many people, when they disable it (if they had it enabled) find they aren't dropping calls.

I'm waiting for my IPhone 5s to show up in the mail right now. I ordered one from Ebay. It wasn't cheap but hopefully I can recoup some money by selling this POS. Good luck! I hope everything works out for you. :smileyhappy:
