I want to cancel my prepaid service but want to keep the phone

I want to cancel my prepaid service because none of plans fit my needs i want to switch my phone over i bought a straight talk byop ( Bring your own Phone) package and i want to use my verizon phone with that. Is it possible to cancel my prepaid service

How long have you had your prepaid device, and 2 I don't believe you can use a prepaid device on straight talk. What kind of phone is it?
