I have had my galaxy s4 for a little over a year. I have had issues with text (SMS and MMS) messages for months where they do not send, people do not get them, and I receive texts over an hour after they are sent. I changed from the stock messaging app to google messenger to see if it would fix it, but its the same issue.
Now two days ago my phone started having calling issues. My phone is silent when making and receiving calls. I cannot hear anything and the person calling cannot hear me. This happens randomly, I could make a phone call and it works and then the next phone call is silent. In order to fix it, I have to power down the phone and take out the battery. Then it works again for a while. This happens anywhere, inside or outside, and even when connected to bluetooth. What is interesting though is that while this is occuring I am able to make a phone call with Google hangouts and its fine. I can also use the internet, facebook, etc with no problem. I did notice that I wasn't able to download an app, but I don't know if that was related.
What do I need to do? I am not in the market for a new phone yet, so I would like this issue resolved .
