Call forwarding on No Answer

I've activated Call Forwarding on my LG G3. It's set to forward on "No Answer". It rings 14 times on my cell phone before it forwards the call, making the function pretty much useless. If I "Ignore" the call, it does not forward but goes to voice mail. Is there a way I can adjust the number of rings before it forwards and/or set to forward if I "Ignore" the call?

In short the answer is no. Based on the video if you select the second option, Forward calls when my line is busy or there is no answer, it rings so many times to give you the option to answer. You'd need to select Forward all calls and then your phone will not even ring, it will automatically be forwarded.

"When forwarding your calls, please keep in mind:

Your mobile phone will not ring until you cancel call forwarding.
Text and Picture messages will not be forwarded.
Airtime usage applies to forwarded/transferred calls even if you send the call to landline telephones.
When forwarding calls to phone numbers outside your local calling area, you will be billed for any toll, long distance and airtime charges incurred."

That first one has me scratching my head because according to them your phone shouldn't ring at all if call forwarding is activated. Then again I also pulled this from Verizon.com

"You can set up Call Forwarding to automatically forward all calls to another number, or have calls forwarded only if you don't answer within a few rings."

I would suggest checking to make sure call forwarding is set up correctly and turned on each time you wish to utilize it.

One more thing, when you set up call forwarding online it gives you two options: Which did you select?

Forward all calls

Forward calls when my line is busy

or there is no answer

Thanks, confirmed what I'd read but hoped I'd missed something. Don't see how this type of "No Answer" call forwarding is useful - not many callers are going to stay on the line through 14 rings ...

When I started looking at Call Forwarding I was hoping to find something like I have with my Google Voice number where both phones ring, not simultaneously but close. Basically "Forward All Calls" with the cell phone ringing as well as the forwarded number.

I was only able to get "Forward all calls" to work. I use that feature with my Google Voice number for times I know I will have wifi, but no Verizon signal. I do not have to adjust the number of rings for this forwarding, it just calls my GV# instead and uses the standard rings before I either answer it or it goes to my GV voicemail. The number of rings in a "no answer forward" type of set up is not able to be changed.

I've never needed to use call forwarding, so I don't guess I understand what you would want to happen in an ideal world.

If you don't want it to ring 14 times, why would you want it to ring a few times? If you don't want it to ring at all, just select Forward all calls. Or do you want to know a call is coming in before it comes in? Or are you forwarding the call to your receptionist because you are otherwise too busy.

I think I understand how you are wanting this to work: You want the rings to be in sync, same number of rings and at the same time, but if you are unable to answer the chosen phone, you want it to forward to the other number. Uniformity perhaps?

No, don't need them in sync, just would like be able to answer on either phone for for a variety of reasons, one of which Snn5 mentioned above the way they use GV.

As I mentioned above, what caller is going to stay on the line for that many rings? After 4 or 5 rings I figure that a) nobody's home and b) there's something wrong with their voice mail and I'd just hang up. I'd never guess someone would pick up after that long.
