samsung sm g900v

I bought an unlocked version of samsung s5 model g900v in the US. I did not use the phone with a verizon sim. I am now here in the Phillippines. When I used a local sim from here, it does not detect any 3g or lte network. Is it because verizon locked the phone from detecting networks from other carriers? What can I do to resolve this? Thanks!

That certainly was a nice gift, rsg21. Our LTE global capable devices, like the Galaxy S 5, come unlocked and ready to use with a local SIM. There are no extra steps needed by Verizon Wireless to allow the use of that local SIM. If you're running into trouble, I'd recommend reaching out to the local provider you purchased the SIM through for help with programming to ensure you can use the phone with their services.

Unfortunately that happens.. bout all you can do is use the phone when you return to the states or get a working Device that utilizes the Network over in that country..

It was actually given by my sister as a gift. I am residing here in the Philippines. Are you saying that I just have to deal with it?

Nice Gift my sister gave me a humorous card telling me I'm getting old for my B-day but back to this you might try and contact customer service by chat maybe and ask if there is a way to use the phone or if you can't that way contact them by calling them maybe they can help you, Its worth a shot..

We certainly want you to be able to get the most out of your phone, rsg21! I can confirm that the SIM slot is unlocked. The compatibility with the other carriers SIM may be in question in regards to the frequencies that are supported. I apologize as the technical support we are able t offer is limited when using another carriers SIM.
