Having trouble receiving texts

I'm having trouble receiving text messages from my sister. She receives all of my texts. When she replies, her phone shows her messages have gone through but I never receive them. This isn't related to just one phone. I've had 3 different phones since this started. I'm thinking maybe somewhere in the past I may have mistakenly blocked my sister's number from receiving incoming messages. Its the only thing that makes sense to me but I can't find anything anywhere here on the website to tell me if that's what happened. Its really a pain in the butt to get any info from her. She is able to text our other family members but either has to have someone relay info to me, email me, or IM me through social media.

Anyone have any ideas?

Of course we have ideas for you jodigo! Let's get you and your sister reconnected via text messages. May I ask what make and model device does you and your sister have? Can I assume that you sister is a Verizon customer also? If so then let's start by verifying that her 10-digit number is saved in your contacts and not the 7-digit number. Also, please verify that you do not have more than 1 number for your sister saved. Once you have done that then try deleting the text thread with your sister, reboot your device, and retest. Pleas keep us posted with the results.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4, sister has iPhone 5. I checked my contact info & did have sister's home landline # saved as well as her cell phone number. I removed the landline number & restarted my phone then sent sister a text. She IM'd me about 30 seconds later to let me know she responded to my text. I haven't received her text.

So I guess drop back 10 and punt again.

Hi YosefT_VZW,

I only have this problem with my sister's number. I've had 3 different brands of phone since I first remember having this problem. My sister has the iPhone 5 now. She had the 4 previous but gave that to her daughter when she upgraded. I have no problem texting the daughter on that phone. We're all with Verizon if I forgot to mention it previously.
