Eris - Can someone describe specifically what happens when you clear data on email?

Hello,

 

My HTC email (exchange, IMAP, etc.) email has grown to 75mb.  I am tempted to clear the data but was hoping someone can tell me specifically what this means.  Would this keep my emails ok on Exchange and at gmail?  Also, would I still have the email program itself with nothing in it?  I am assuming I would have to reset the accounts up, Exchange settings, etc.

 

If someone can fill me in I would really appreciate it.  Unfortunately that is the only way I can think to combat my program memory problem.

If you were to do a data reset on your phone, it will eliminate everything that you have set up such as if downloaded apps from the android market, you would have to redownload them, reset up email accounts and re establish settings that you have set up on your phone.
