Ellipsis 7 rest in piece

I visited the Vz store yesterday and walked out a happy customer. I bought a new smart phone and took my previously used but working perfect Ellipsis 7 in to have it activated in my name. They installed a new simm card and all was happy. Shortly after I left the store I received an update for the 7. The update seemed to load fine until it turned off at the end and never returned. I went back to the store and they said nothing they could do for it. The normal hold the off button and down volumn at same time didnt produce results other than showing the "powered by android" logo for a few seconds and then going back to the faint glow. This tablet worked flawlessly until the update and now it sounds like its toss it in the scrap. Needless to say Im not happy anymore.

Silly question, but did you have it plugged into the charger when you did the update? Have you since tried to plug it in and charge, does it light up saying it's charging? Have you tried to hold volume and power while plugged in?

It wasn't plugged in during update. Last night after the battery life seemed to die, I plugged it in and the lightening bolt symbol appeared. I made an attempt to push the start button and the symbol left. I let it charge all night and tried everything this morning and still nothing. I just wish I could connect it to my real computer and re-install back to original but the Vz store said they can't do that.

After the charging symbol left, did you unplug it and plug it back in? Did the charging symbol come back on while it charged all night?

Honestly at this point I don't remember. I've tried everything so many times that it's pointless to me. In my eyes Vz obviously sent me the wrong update for my tablet and it wasn't compatable. Wonder how many others have a similar experience. I wish I didn't have the feeling that it's just a sales booster by crashing outdated equipment.

Rpren, we want to bring the happiness back. I am sorry to learn that you are having trouble with software update on the tablet. Let's see if we can bring it back to life. If you plug the charger in the tablet, does it indicate that it is getting any power source? Have you tried to perform a factory data reset? If not please try to complete the following steps http://vz.to/1GsnHHu. Keep us updated on how that goes.

Thanks for the previous replies from both of you. OK, the 7 has been undisturbed all night. Sometime through the night the faint glow on the screen left. This morning I carefully carried the 7 out to the kitchen counter and plugged the correct charger into it. I watched and the lightning bolt appeared. I also noticed the faint glow also came back too. I didn't do anything else but carefully slide it back out of the way. I'll check things out from time to time and wait for further instructions. Thanks, Rick

If you find it's not charging you may need to unplug and replug. My Galaxy tab had the same problem. I'd leave it plugged in for hours, go to look at it hadn't charged. Sometimes it would then change it's mine and say full battery, it just depended on it's mood.

It's now going on 1030am where I live. The charge symbol is still showing on the screen. My question is- what should be showing on a perfect running 7 ? Will it show anything when its fully charged? Should there be green showing as the charge increases? Right now all it shows is a white outlined battery with a white lighning bolt in the center of the battery. Thanks
