Galaxy S4 dials a contact randomly after lollipop update

My Galaxy S4 will dial a contact (that isn't one of my favorites) when I haven't tried to place a call.

Details about the problem...

This started within a few days of lollipop update.

Usually happens when I open or close the "phone" menu.

Glitch is not there all the time

May repeat the call several times in a row, repeating the call with each attempt to make it stop.

Never happens in my pocket

Always holding phone or touching screen

May not happen for a few days, may happen several times in one day

Almost always happens with one particular contact, but several times it has been other contacts.

It is not calling the last # dialed (except when it is one of those times it does it several times in a row)

Things probably not causing the issue...

I don't have any speed dial numbers stored

"Direct Call" is off, but that shouldn't matter as contact is not displayed on screen before the call is placed.

I did the Contacts wipe of data and cache (app data reset to 0kb from 32 kb) and restarted phone.

My contacts all returned after reboot of phone and App data is 32kb again.

Figured I would have to sync manually.

Must've synced with google contacts automatically at restart, or it didn't really clear.

I'll give it a few days and see if phone/contacts behavior is corrected.

thanks, will update if it is a fix or move on to factory reset.

Have you done a factory reset after the OS update?

You'll want to back up all your important things; contacts, pictures, videos, messages etc. If you have enough room in your Verizon Cloud you can use that, or whatever cloud service you prefer.

From there go to settings>back up restore>unselect app data back up and app restore

Then do the factory reset which you do by powering off your device, then hold the volume down key and the power button for 10+ seconds until a screen appears and you can select factory reset. Please know this does what it says, it makes it "factory" so you'll need to customize everything again.
