Moto G having major problems

My Moto G is now allowing me to back out of apps when I'm done. The back button and home buttons have disappeared. I've rebooted three times, I've reset my phone and it's still not working. What's going on?

You have performed some great troubleshooting so far. Here is an alternate method to full reset the phone. This will erase everything off of it so make sure you have everything important backed up first.

This is not what we want to hear is going on with your Moto G. Let's get to the bottom of this. How long has it been like this? Did anything change on your device before this started happening? (any software updates or new apps downloaded?) Is it just exiting out of apps that the back does not seem to be working?

The problems started on Sunday afternoon/early evening. As best as I could tell, the software was updated. I did a full factory reset, and that didn't seem to solve the problem. Once I use an app, there's no way for me to back out and there's no notification bar at the top of my screen either. I don't recall adding any new apps within the last week or so.

At this point, it's almost a moot point since I will be getting my Moto E delivered tomorrow, but I posted this because it's possible other people have had similar issues with their Moto G.
