I currently have an iPhone 4s, which I don't like for various reasons. I purchased a Droid XT862 to use instead. I know these two phones don't have the same sim card, so what do I need to do in order to use the Droid once I receive it?
Does the Droid 3 use a SIM card? If it does, you can get one free at a corporate Verizon store, or call Customer Service and they can send you one.
Log on to your verizonwireless.com account, and on the overview page, click the link to "Activate or Switch device" and follow the directions to activate a new phone. Or simply call customer service (800-922-0204) from a landline or a phone other than your active phone and the one you want to activate.
I believe the DROID 3 was still a 3G only smartphone, but it was global ready so it has a SIM card slot.

If that's the case, then all badwolfone needs to do is turn OFF the iPhone 4s, turn ON the Droid 3, and call *228. No SIM needed unless you plan international travel. If the *228 option doesn't work, then call cuastomer service (800-922-0204) from a different phone.
There is a spot for a sim card in the droid. However, I will call *228 first when I recieve the phone to see if I can activate it without a sim. If I find out I need one I will go to a corporate verizon store. Thank you both for your answers! I'll let you know when I get the phone and figure it out!
