Samsung Note 4 Quick Charger

I just recently upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.  Sometimes when I plug in the charger, I do not get the lightning bolt on the top left that indicates "Quick" charging. I remove the charger a few times and reconnect, then I get the quick charging icon displayed on the top left.  Quick charging is enabled in the settings. Is there something wrong with my charger or is this normal?

This is not a normal action when charging  and could be caused by pin contacts that are not making proper contact or contamination on a plug or port. Another possible reason could be a defective voltage sensing circuit in the charger or phone. I would look first at all contacts and ports to check for contamination and clean if needed.
