Help with Samsung Galaxy S4

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S4, refurbished phone. I've had it about 4 days. 3 of those 4 days, I have noticed that the sound just randomly goes out. I have the volume turned all the way up, when I go into the settings it is still all the way up when this happens. Sometimes it fixes itself after a few hours.

Go into Settings under listing Device open Sound. And uncheck all the boxes - you can choose these options later. Then open Audio Effects and select On if it is Off. Then turn off and restart the Galaxy S4. This may correct it.

I don't see anything that says Audio Effects

In KitKat 4.4.4 when you go into settings and then tap on Sound, the second column down has Audio Effects. Tap on it, if it is showing

Sorry to hear that you are having audio issues with a phone you just bought! Let's see if there might be a simple cause. Could you share with us when specifically the sound has gone out? Were you on a call, listening to music, etc? Has the audio cut out when using more than just one thing? Go to Settings> More> About phone. What is the Android version and Baseband version?
