Since the 2.1 update for the Eris, my phone has had applications running continuously even after I use the Advanced Task Killer. They appear out of nowhere running and using battery life. I have had the Verizon store hard restart my phone and there has been no change. The available memory is down to 23 to 40 after I have killed all the applications, which is causing programs to lock up, especially while the internet is active and I’m trying to send a text. My battery is only lasting 2-3 hours from a full charge, and the apps that are coming up I’m not choosing.

Anyone else having these issues.

I also am having the same problem. Apps that I have not selected are running. I also am unable to set speed dials. I had trouble setting up favorites in place of the speed dials. At one point they would come and go randomly.

yea the forced apps is **bleep** me off along with all of the other problems.. rushed software no doubt...

Yeah well everyone was {word filter avoidance}
and whining so they had to put out something and this is what you get. Prime example of why people need to stop {word filter avoidance}
and let the companies work everything out before they push it out to people so they don't experience these problems.

Well i wasn't one of those people {word filter avoidance}
and whining i for one will wait for a working copy then get a rushed version that doesn't work.

I understand how frustrating is can be to run out of memory on your droid. There are 2 types of memory in the ROM and RAM. Using a Task Killing only frees up RAM, which memory the phone uses to run the applications. If you want to free up ROM, which is internal memory that actually stores your phone data and applications, you have to go into Application Settings > Manage Application and clear data on apps that using to ROM. When you view how much internal memory your droid has, you are looking at the ROM. Uninstalling Applications will also free internal memory (ROM) on your device. Task Killers are good because the improve the performance of your device. You can set auto task kill which will automatically kill task in whatever time limit you set but when using auto task kill, you will need to put some applications in the ignore list or you will find that when you use apps they will close in the time limit that you set. I use Apollo Task Killer. I have my auto kill set to 1 second after the screen locks. I hope some of this information is useful to you and help improve your issue.

I'm having the same issues with the favorites list as well. I set two or three and then they disappear. If they do stay I can't set them to call people it just sends me to their contact info. Heading to Verizon tomorrow. To clear up what Dameon, from Verizon said, it's called 'Task Manager' from Apollo Software not 'Apollo Task Killer'. And we wonder why our phones have so many problems...good luck everybody.
