LOLLIPOP UPGRADE

I whole heartedly agree with Vanhalen. This lollipop upgrade is trash. My phone over heats, battery is eaten to fast, my phone is as slow as my first phone (12 years ago) to connect for a call, to text, fb you can't even use. I tried for 30 minutes to make a phone call last night. I kept going in different ways to make a call to my home land line! If the androids continues as this, (unfortunately I have another year on this contract), I will be going apple as the rest of my family has already gone! This phone, Samsung, Galaxy S5 was suppose to be the meow of phones. I will tell you it is the worse phone I have ever had since this last update. Please change it back. NOW DO NOT MAKE US WAIT FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. THAT WILL MAKE US EVEN MORE FRUSTRATED!

Maybe you should read all the complaints Apple gets when it's releases a new OS update. Did you do a factory rest? Also sometimes it take the phone a few days to "settle in" with the new OS.

Just love it people complained for MONTHS "We want lollipop NOW!" Now you get it and guess what more complaints.

More than likely its an app not you have installed not liking the new operating system make sure they have all updated, if that doesn't work uninstall all of them and reinstall them one at a time to find the culprit. I know this can be a pain but its not android's fault some app makers are slow or don't update their app's when a new OS comes out.

This is actually pretty normal on an Android Major update (in this case a new OS) as the Android OS is self optimizing and once you put the new OS on it will start optimizing the software, apps, pictures, and other documents on your phone. How long this takes depends on how much stuff is on your phone. Part of this optimization and most likely what you are running into now is, the OS will learn all over again how you use your phone so it can move the most used apps to the top of the list, and least used to the bottom etc... so that it can shut off the self starting apps on the device and save battery. Usually after 3-5 days of usage the battery comes back to normal ranges.

Other aspect on this is it very well could also be an app that has not been optimized for Lollipop yet and it is causing issues (run in safe mode to see if it stops) and it could be a bad rendition of the OS (the Samsung Add On's etc... If after 3-5 days it is still doing this then try the FDR. I would not do this before hand though as it may not be necessary.

Didn't ask for lollipop! Screen tells me my username, but when I enter it, it tells me enter 12 digit phone #. Sorry, I am not a pro. Figure g all this update stuff out. But my phone should not be freezing up, over heat in my hand, can't make calls, phone always tells me my contacts are not working, vety, very very slow. I am not a youngster snd this is not my passion, to fix things that I have no idea what you are talking about. If an update Kerns coming up on my phone, I figure they know what is best. Now my phone us a piece of crap.Ready for an apple. Then at least my daughter that is a teacher and constant user of apple phone can help me.
