I just bought an Eris and had saved all my pics, movies and contacts (phone numebrs) to my SD. I just don't know how to access the phone numbers / copy them over to my Eris.

Since your SD card usually is for storing pictures, videos, and media type files whatever is on the SD card would be located in the media portion on the phone such as the gallery. Check in your gallery where your pics, videos, and music are located to see if they were placed there if they are not in your phone book.
