I've continued to have issues with a "deadspot" reoccurring on the lower left of my screen as I type (keys A, E, R, D) . Phones has had random moments of freezing up,since purchase. Initially i could get it to unfreeze if i simply hit the sleep button. Anyone have this problem? Any solutions?

Never had that problem, but have heard of other screen issues. Replacements were issued to those still under warranty and that were free of physical, intentional software, and liquid damage. And, "bumping" does nothing on this forum.

The phone is 16 months old. Out of warranty and too early to upgrade without going to verizon edge. I'm just very unhappy with verizon. Even considering going elsewhere.

You have the option to leave. You should have had it replaced as soon as it started. You can pay the $190+ and leave if you want. You can also take advantage of the enrollment period with Asurion that is going on right now.

Why unhappy with Verizon? They don't make the phone LG does.

Some credit cards automatically extend warranties by 1 yr. You might be under warranty longer than you think. Check.

Also - you can always call LG. They might send you a refurbished device. It depends on how you approach the situation.

Now, I'm not saying this will be successful, but I have done this before with touchscreen devices and this has worked. Sometimes, a device like this with a big screen will experience mechanical stress due to torquing that will render the touch screen flakey at the edge or in the corner of the device. sometimes this mechanical stress is because of a cover, or something lodged under a cover, sometimes because the device was placed in a tight fitting piece of clothing when i was doing something physical.

you might try mechanically de-stressing or de-torquing the screen. YMMV. be careful, if you overdo it, you could really damage the device.

how I would do this would be to turn the device off. take the phone in both hands in landscape mode, and slighty / gently twist it like I was wringing out a dish towel. one way, then the other.

not too much force! you aren't trying to break the device.

then I would take my thumb, and with some pressure but not too much, run it around the perimeter of the screen.

then i would download a program from the market like Touch Test (by tsaysoft) or something like that which would allow you to draw to the extents of the screen to see if the phone recognized touch everywhere.
