Normally I am a very calm person. I try to understand things from a business's point of view when things are frustrating and that I am not the only customer that may have complaints. I am finally to the point that going into Verizon stores has done nothing but make me extremely frustrated as they have done NOTHING every time. I have been a Verizon Customer for close to 10 Years now. Paying in to them close to $10,000 in fees, services, phones, additions etc. and now that I have a problem they can't fix they throw me under the bus over and over and over.
I will start from the beginning. In 2012 I married my better half and added her to my phone plan as most families do. I joined the Army in 2013 and I went to Basic Training as all Armed Service Members must do. During this time there is no or very little communication with your family back home. I graduated and while I was heading to my AIT we were told we can't have Cell phones but we can have our computers for homework and research. So I go to Verizon and ask for a Mobile Hotspot so I can use internet services while I was in the barracks. They told me that it would be the greatest thing I could get. Best Service! No Commitments and if I didn't like it just suspend the service until my contract ended and I wont have to pay for it. Great! Just what I needed. Except in a brick building I got NO service. Not a single drop. This was only for a few weeks so I figured whatever when I graduate I will just go in and talk to Verizon. They didn't care. I was locked in and every month I suspended my service it added to my contract. Lie number one.
This was my fault as I was gullible and fell into this trap as I had one day to get from Basic to AIT and was anxious to get back in touch with the world. Now I have finally gotten close to completing my 2 year contract with the hotspot and I just got the Galaxy Note 3. A friend of mine upgraded and gave it to me. I noticed I was getting very crappy signal with it. In my basement my wife gets great signal and my note doesn't get a single bar. So I went in to Verizon A) to pay off my hotspot (in 2 years I NEVER used the damn thing but had to pay it since I signed my name on the dotted) to make my bill cheaper and
to have them look at my phone to see if they knew what the problem is. They were sold on the notion that it was a faulty antenna. First they wanted to try a new SIM card, to try this and see if it fixed the problem. If not then they are currently running an OPEN ENROLLMENT FOR INSURANCE! Great! They told me that if by chance the SIM card isn't the issue than this was an internal issue. He looked over my phone and checked for damage, water damage...etc He stated my phone was in excellent condition so I could sign up for the insurance to have my phone sent in and they would send me a new one but first to go home and check if the new SIM card solved the problem. I thanked him for his help as he seemed very knowledgeable and was very helpful.
So I went home and waited 48 hours. To no avail it did not work so I went back to Verizon to see what I needed to do to have it sent in. The guy I originally talked to wasn't working and a young woman came up to me to help. I told her about the issue and of course I spent an hour with her discussing what she thought would help and repeating that I was here 2 days ago for 4 hours talking to another employee. I finally got annoyed and asked for a manager. HE came out and I spent more time explaining to him. He remembered me and heard the whole conversation. He looked over my phone again and said that since there is a small crack on the side that I may be charged $300 to get a refurbished phone. Of course I was very frustrated as 2 days earlier another employee signed me up for insurance to get my phone fixed and now it won't apply. I said whatever send it in I need a phone as my wife is 6 months pregnant and if I can't get service in my house or at work the 2 places I am most I may miss the birth of my son.
Now I get the new phone. It looks great. Brand new in package covers all sealed up the works. Right away I turn it on get it going and of course no service. I live in the heart of Omaha, NE a very Verizon Proud City. I am now stuck with this phone and 2 months go by. Now I am on a business trip in Atlanta GA hundreds of miles away from my now 8 month pregnant wife and not only can I get no service at home, at work, but in Atlanta ANYWHERE! Here and there I get a bar... A BAR of 3g! 75% of the time though NOT A SINGLE BAR! I am emailing my wife to stay in touch with her should she go into early labor because Verizon keeps shafting me and making excuses. I am a loyal Verizon Customer of many years. My whole family has Verizon. I pay my bill every month on time every time. Now if Verizon seriously is okay with screwing over a Soldier, Future Mother, and Loyal Customers... There is something wrong.
I am putting the ball into your court Verizon. My Contract is up in 2 months. If you can't get me a new phone to my liking I will be parting ways. Show me you care about your Customers! I am also placing a link at the bottom here that is a forum on your website FILLED with complaints about the Note 3. I am not the only one. What are you going to do?
