My father left me a voice mail during the last week of July 2014. I have been listening to the voice mail at least once a week and selecting "9" to save. On February 8, 2015 I checked my voice mail and my father's voicemail message was not there. However, when I logged in Verizon's Visual Voice mail app I could see the voicemail message's date and time. The message was "greyed" out and would not allow me to open it. Why would Visual Voice Mail randomly delete a message that I have been saving on a regular basis for months?
My other two voice mails that I have also been saving since Nov 2014 that are still available. I do not have an external memory card installed in my Samsung Galaxy S5 Android
