droid turbo group messaging issue

Not sure if this should be posted in the Android category or the droid turbo category but whenever I send a group message and include recipients with an area code saved in their contact info the following message is displayed however I can message those people with area codes directly. Just won't wokr in the group message function:

"correct the recipients or they wont receive the message"

cb1983, what type of messaging is being used? SMS which is text only. Or MMS which is pictures, sound, video, and text or any conbination of them. Are they being sent with wifi turned on?

Wifi will send SMS, even if mobile data is turned off. But not MMS with pictures, sound, or video, which requires your cellular connection. So in that case Group messaging would have to have a check in messaging settings, mobile data turned on, and wifi turned off.

Depends on phone whether or not MMS will send with Mobile Data turned off. The LG G2 will send and receive MMS with Data off, because the data radio never fully turns off, it acts more like a gatekeeper in that it allows MMS but does not allow other forms of data.

The Droid Maxx I have will send SMS whether mobile data is on or off. But not MMS unless mobile data is turned on. So good point you made!

Just trying to send a text message not MMS. Data is on already. Seems to be an issue with the area code being saved in the contact info. Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem.

I thought in most instances that mass SMS was converted to MMS.

I'm sorry your having issues with your group text messaging cb1983. ARe you using a 3rd party messaging application? What is the error message you receive when trying to send to those recipients you have issues with?
