We have a small ministry and we purchased the Samsung Galaxy Stellar phones for several people after I upgrade to the Stellar and loved it.
Here it is Jan. 26, 2015 and my Stellar is going to black screen whenever the display needs to change to something else so when I dial and it needs to go to the keypad the touch screen goes back and does not work, when the phone is answered it freezes black and nothing can be done because the touch screen is dead. This is making calling into an queue where you have to use the keypad after your have made the call... you can't.
I did everything to try and get it to work and then the other Stellar phones all began to have the same problem. Now all 4 phones do the same black touch screen freeze whenever the screen needs to change. Even if you rotate the phone to see a picture horizontal it goes black and freezes.
Every phone has at least 6 months to a year before the contract is up and to buy 4 new phones now is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. So I took them into the Verizon store. They thought they knew the problem and they tried everthing. We don't use any add-on Apps. And the few pictures or songs are on the SD card so we pulled that. We did open the phone in safe mode and cleared the cache and did factory restores and no change, we did a forced update no change. So they opened the first phone thinking the screen sensor for rotation might be off and when opened all 4 looked fine.
So... the idea that all 4 phone died about the same time tells me that the last update screwed things up. When you search Google this problem is every where. The Verizon store looked into the Verizon vault of info and told me that there is a new Samsung update about to be released but they could say just when.
Oh well... we are all pulling the battery and because of the queue calling when you call Verizon, I can't even get through to them without 5 or more tries. I love Verizon and my Stellar has been the best phone ever and then suddenly this black "cloud" entered into our lives.
Holding out hope that the NEW update that is due out anytime will fix me up or I will have to live with this until the end of July when my update option is due for renewal. The trade in on this phone is only $1.00 and I can't even donate it because its not working properly.
