Decided to finally upgrade my DNA. Got the m8 instead of the m9. First couple days was fine. Until I accepted the lollipop update. Now phone is almost unbearable. Apps force close, some freeze, and everything lags. Also seems like the screen got super sensitive. If everyone is having these problems looks like Verizon would put out a new update now. Or even revert us back to 4.4.4 until 5.1 is ready. Always liked my HTC phones, but really dissatisfied now. I think this is still capable of being an excellent phone. If Verizon will step up and fix "THEIR" botched update.

It's HTCs botched update. Google created the Android OS, but HTC fooled with the rest of their Sense UI. Verizon just sells phones and service, not operating systems or their updates.

Actually it's Google's update. HTC customizes it for their phones. Then Verizon adds their extras and changes what they don't like. Haven't heard as many problems with other carriers. Been with Verizon for years seen this a few times. The changes they made interferes with the OS .

Carriers write no code. Google does not write Sense code. Verizon writes no code. Oh, and reference where I stated, "Google created the Android OS," hence, Google wrote the code and HTC created Sense, who in turn had to make the Google OS, AKA Android work with their UI, and yeah, Verizon sells phones, not UIs or OSs.

Guess you work for Verizon. All I know HTC sends their updates to Verizon. Verizon may not make changes themselves, but if they don't like something about the update it is sent back and changed to meet what they want. When the DNA was getting ready to update it was denied I think 3 times till it met what they wanted. Updates are different for each carriers. May be based on say 5.0.1, but that's why there are probably 10 build numbers and no telling how many versions. Everyone always blames Sense. Sometimes removing things originally built into a phone removes pieces of software that may effect how another apk or feature operates. May not be noticeable in testing, but shows up with repeated customer use.
