Ally release Date?

So is the ally going to start shipping today may 20th or will it be delayed like the incredible and play the waiting game? I preordered on may 14th.

I saw on ebay today where they were showing preorders already for june 3!

Can anyone let me know what's going on with the ally? The suspense of waiting is killing me

well reviews of the phone didnt hit the net til like the 15th so hopefully i beat the rush.

my order status this morning still says we are awaiting phone availibilty, sad thing is my accessories will be arriving today before my new phone!

i think you may be right about that waiting list since there the price point on the phone at full retail is dirt cheap at 369.99 for a slider android phone

LG isnt being sued by Apple, probably doesnt use Samsung LCDs, the floods in TN should be subsiding, first run orders shouldnt hit over 100k, and... let me see, did I miss any other excuses? ...Dont think so.

I just got an e-mail stating that the pre-order period has been extended to the 26th, so I will receive on the 27th or later. A whole week (or more if more delays occur) that I have to wait for my phone :smileysad:

It seems I am one of many who have been completely "bent over" by Verizon's issues. I have to pay 2 cell bills instead of one. Transferring from my old provider and joining my wife's "family plan" wasn't the best idea I guess. What really irritates me is that not one person at VZW can tell me anything relevant about what's going on. The email should have included a promo code for SOMETHING! Instead I spent about 3 hours on the phone and dealer to hear the same stuff. In fact folks I found out there will be a lot of pre orders that wont be shipped out until the 4th! So we will all have to wait and then complain on the future droid forums. VZW needs to figure out what products they have ready and figure out how to treat customers.

hopefully ordering on the second day of the preorder will get me in the first shipment, the battery life in my rogue is really ticking me off ive got my ally extended battery sitting here in the packaging just waiting to be used

I was browsing some android sites today and saw a post that the reason for the delay was hardware related, they recalled all the units because of something about the original touchscreens not being responsive enough. Apparently the problem has been fixed and the newer screens are more responsive and over all the phone is more too because of it , so im crossing my fingers for a fedex guy to be at my house on the 27th.

Verizon could have simply stated that a recall is the reason for the delay. Instead, Verizon stated it was to extend the pre-order. I personally have no problem with them delaying release so that the phone can be better, but I do wonder if it would take them until the phone's release to do touch ups on the phone on something that would be hopefully rigorously tested long before the date was announced.

So friends, I worked for a Verizon nerd today. He said his store has them. There are plenty. So why the hold up!?!?!?

Today the guys at my Midvale Utah location showed me the phone, let me play around with it and check internet speeds. This is a great phone! It rivals the incredible as far as usability and yeah a little slower but really who has a stop watch and a speed check. It works very well. Also if there is an opportunity for a good froyo download or firmware we will all be in gravy-town!

Fact is guys like me don't care AT ALL about how "sexy" a phone is. It is about practical usability and over all fun. This phone is built like a tank, weighs great, tempered glass screen and soft rubber back. It runs all droid apps. Kicks ass!
