Failed text message in new conversation

The first message in a new conversation from me reports as "failed."

I can receive text messages and media messages from new recipients and recipients who already have their own conversations in the application.

I've tried working off of wifi to no success, as well as operating over data with no luck.

Most (not all) conversations in the app have been deleted and I've restarted the app by force stopping and clearing data. The problem has not been resolved.

What other trouble shooting methods must be done?

Can you delete that one saved message or delete it using the stock message app and have it not return? Or is this for every first message in a new conversation?

I can delete all conversations; just wanted to keep a few important ones. Every first message, no matter the recipient, fails to send in a new conversation

I want to get your text working crmarino! I appreciate all the troubleshooting you have done, you are awesome! What type of phone do you have? Have you tried the original text message application for the phone instead of the Verizon Messages? Please share details, so we can further assist.
