Verizon showing the incorrect phone for insurance.

Hello,

I had insurance on a phone I originally purchased to start to the contract. I had two of the same phone on the plan. I broke my phone and couldn't wait for the new one to come in, but I needed to add another line to my account anyway. So, The Verizon guy swapped out my sim card with the new Iphone and I was going to send in the broken phone. Unfortunately I can't can make an insurance claim due to the fact that my Verizon account is showing I have two Iphones on the account. What do I do?

Having a broken phone is never fun NSTSMT! Allow us to get to the bottom of your insurance concerns. When you added a line and purchased the new iPhone, did you purchase insurance with that device? Have you tried contacting Asurion to file a claim? The claim should be filed under the device that is broken. Where were you going to send in the broken device too?

Sounds like the OPs problem is the new line added with the new iphone now has the features that WERE on the other line, including the insurance. The line with the broken phone apparently does NOT have insurance on it (due to the switch out) - so he is having a problem filing a claim when the system shows the line with the broken device does not CURRENTLY have insurance.

I had insurance on my original phone which was a Motorolla DROID maxX, which broke, I bought the iPhone with insurance also. I think the problem happened when I switched the sim cards because it shows me having two Iphones.

I guess I'll have to contact asurion

We certainly want to get to the bottom of this. Do you currently have two lines of service? I'm wondering what would prompt your account to show two iPhone devices if you only have one. When you log into your My Verizon account, do you see two lines of service there, both with iPhones?
