Easy upgrade from Incredible to Incredible 2?

I have a flaky HTC Incredible ADR6300 but a great Verizon plan (Nationwide Talk Share 700) that I don't want to change. I want a Note 4 but can't afford a used Note 3 on eBay, so I thought I might just upgrade to the Incredible 2 or maybe the Inc 4G/LTE for a lot less.

Problem is that my Inc doesn't have a SIM card. If I buy a used Verizon Inc2 or Inc4G can I just waltz into a Verizon store and get a SIM for it?. I'm perfectly willing to drop the flaky Inc, I just don't want to pay an unreasonable amount for providing my own phone, and I want to keep my plan above all..

Answers and alternative suggestions are welcome.

Great news chipdavis! You can certainly get a free SIM card for a 4G device if you visit a corporate Verizon Wireless store at your convenience. Just enter your ZIP code at this link http://bit.ly/3SdsA to find a store near you. You can also order a SIM card online if you activate your new phone online, just login to your my Verizon Account at http://bit.ly/xB4iTc then select to activate another phone from the left side of your screen. Once you enter the IMEI number of the 4G phone you want to activate, you will be prompted to enter SIM card, or order one online for your new phone.

The DInc2 is a 3G only smartphone. The 4G LTE version will need a SIM card.

They are free at Corporate Verizon stores (or by contacting Customer Service); retailers usually charge for them.

Yes, I should have specified Corporate. Not all Verizon-authorized retailers will offer free SIM cards.

Thanks to everyone for your prompt and accurate answers. My ultimate decision was to purchase a used DInc just like the one that is misbehaving. I went to my not-so-neighborhood Verizon store and the friendly tech got the account updated, and transferred most everything from my old DInc to the "new" one (call & text history didn't make it).

Ultimately, I will probably purchase a used Samsung Note 4 and attempt the same upgrade, but this will hold me for a while..
