New Galaxy S5 is not sending texts/receiving calls

Hi -

In March I bought a brand new Galaxy S5 because my old iPhone 4 wasn't sending all of my texts (even though it looked like it was). Additionally, people had been calling me, but my phone would never ring or tell me I had a missed call.

My Galaxy S5 is now doing the same thing. My texts look like they go through, but every day there are a few that don't actually get received by the contact. On two occasions, two separate people have tried to call me, but my phone won't ring or notify me that someone tried to call.

These things only seem to happen when I'm home, though my phone says I have an excellent signal there.

Can anyone help me?

Did you get a new SIM card?

Does the phone drop calls.

This only happens when the phone isnt connected to the network. Even if the phone were off, calls would go to voicemail and text would be waiting when the phone turned on again.

I've just been using the SIM card that came with the Galaxy S5. The phone has not dropped any calls so far.

Also: I'm able to receive every text other people send me, it's just that mine don't seem to always go through and I don't get any kind of error message saying it didn't send.

To me it sounds like a location problem. It sounds like you get your calls and your text go through when you're away from home. Verizon will want to know your Zip code to see if there are any issues in the area. You could look into a network extender to see if that helps, but I would first contact Verizon because an extender is $250; but the one Verizon sells seems to have good reviews.
