Poor Service after moving, Chandler Arizona

After moving only 2 miles south of where I had absolutely excellent service, I've found my new place to have very subpar, almost non-existent service. Judging by the distance I moved, I figured the new area would be covered by the same towers.

Where can I go to report these service issues and hopefully get some kind of resolution? Are there any details on the release of a 4G microcell?

Please Verizon, you're my only hope. I'm about to swap carriers.

You might call tech support to open a network ticket and explain. then follow up on it in 2 days. There may be an explanation or other options to improve service.

Hi Pamela,

Thank you for responding. The zip code I moved to is 85224. I was in the same zipcode only 2 miles north of my current address and I had perfect service. Not so much in my new address.

Service is pretty bad inside my place. Even 3G has only 1-2 bars. When I have 4G service its no more than 1-2 bars but that's rare. I'm routinely seeing my phone drop down to 1x service throughout the day. Phone calls are very robotic sounding and I lose calls all the time. I've been a Verizon customer for a long time, and this is enough to make me want to jump ship over to another carrier.

Thanks so much for the location details, muldoonaz! I agree that this public forum is not the place to post any more specific details about your home address. We wanted to see if the overall coverage in your area might yield some clues to your current service situation, so getting the zip code is the first step in that effort.

I've been with Verizon Wireless for nearly 10 years (as customer and employee) and a wireless customer in general for 20 years. Over those years, my home address has changed 7 times. With each change, I have brought my cellular device with me to test the service. I do this because the my first address change caused me to experience service issues at home (I wasn't with Verizon Wireless then). I remember calling my carrier (they're still in business today), and was told that indoor service is not supported. So I was out of luck. If I wanted to make a call, I had to step outside. Luckily, I lived in L.A. so the weather was usually pretty good for a step out to the balcony of the apartment.

Indoor service is still challenging to wireless carriers today. We can't tell how strong our signal will be in all buildings because we're not able to actually test the service without entering. That's why we offer options like Network Extenders. They help to supplement service in buildings where the structure itself may interfere with signal.

It's not just indoors though. That's just where the worst service is. I understand building penetration is hard and I'm not faulting anyone for not being able to get perfect service everywhere.

My only complaint is that everywhere I go in my new complex, service is terrible. Outside in my car, out at the mailbox, at the pool. I have at most, 1-2 bars of service and 4G is a luxury.

The complex is new, so maybe Verizon just needs to run another site survey in my area and adjust the antennas to cover what was one a dirt lot. That's all I'm asking. :smileyhappy:

Oh, and when do the 4G microcells come out? The microcell (network extender) you linked is 3G only.
