Lollipop 5.0 is Horrid - I am writing the Verizon CEO -

This FORCED updated to Lollipop 5.0 from a working and happy version 4.4.4 Kitkat is unacceptable. There are now over 1000 complaints just on this forum in the last 3 weeks.
I suggest we all write to the CEO. A simple OPT OUT option would go along ways to improve customer relations with a NEW OS update. Always it should be optional.

Then you need to bring it up with the manufacturers. Their warranty states for them to honor the warranty you have to be on the latest version. Also all their devices were "forced" to update regardless of where they were bought. Just some food for thought.

What Warranty are you talking about? I own my phone, I have Square Trade for a replacement phone if it is damaged, my phone is way over a year old and Verizon has already told me they offer NO warranty. So again...WHAT WARRANTY are you talking about? BTW the BRAND NEW Galaxy Note 3 at their store comes with : Kitkat 4.3.

Back up your data and do a factory reset. Make sure your phone has a good wifi connection until the update is complete. Over the air, mine took an hour to download and another hour to install.

Note 3 would update as soon as it has service. Mine is running 5.0 just fine.

Go into your box and read the information sheets. One of them will tell you... The manufacturer handles the warranty and the carriers are only middlemen. Manufacturers push out the update and dictate the warranty terms. When you purchase and use their devices you agree to those terms.

The manufacturer chose to update their products, and if anything happens that's on the manufacturer to fix. You can act like you don't know what a warranty is. Doesn't matter if yours expired or not. It is what it is and the terms.

Sure the Brand New Note 3 comes with 4.3, but those devices were made and NEVER TURNED at that. If they are turned on the updates are waiting and after a time period regardless what version including overseas they will be updated. If they were MADE AFTER the release date of an update it will always have the new version as they can put the new version prior to packaging.

I'd agree with you the lollipop saga is incredible to see. Verizon does have to take some responsibility and it starts at the top.

You sending a single letter will do nothing. You need to get media outlets on board and they love a good story. Perhaps Product reviews and prices, software downloads, and tech news - CNET or a major newspaper like the NY Times to do a write up. There is much here to support your claim. Once this Lowell guy gets some media attention he will move or perhaps better he move on.

I hate to say this, but we can write thousands of letters and make millions of phone calls, and nothing will change. We are all stuck with this garbage of lollilop as long as we have our phones.

Corporate America is way too powerful to listen to any of us. They are all making tons of money, and that's business as usual. Bad update? Oh well, we have to deal with it. Every time there is a Google update, it's a major catastrophy.

Bottom line is, if verizon, google, and samsung really care about customer service of thousands of us having issues with the update, they would offer to either push kitkat back, which will never happen, or figure out a fix. Interestingly enough, I really don't see major blunders when Apple pushes it's updates through. I wonder why!

Yes they do. Just Apple people tend to post more often on Apple forums and really Android forums.

my phone upgraded to lollipop now it overheats, burns my hand/ear and turns off on it own, opens apps when im not even touching it. when i do try to use it, it freezes and is so slow.

i am not pleased with this upgrade at all, my phone was working just fine before.

Yes it comes with kit Kat 4.3, but my friend just bought one and was forced to do the same update.

I told you how to do it. Start sending emails to writers at major media outlets. Politicians and CEO's only act when they get negative media, include that Verizon on the stock market took a nose dive in mid March with Lollipop, which they did.

Verizon could have posted on My Verizon website that they are experiencing some difficulties with the Lollipop update and they are working on it, or suggested how to go about installing it but refuse to, so ya they don't care.

Get the media involved!

I agree!! Way to go Verizon you're about to lose all your customers. The other companies will pay our fees now, what do we have to lose?

Then you will complain at those carrier forums about Lollipop messing up the same devices you had while on Verizon... The same problems... Google said themselves there was problems with 5.0 and that 5.1 would fix most of the issues. People clamored manufacturers to push out faster updates and they cry when they didn't get 5.0... If they had to wait for 5.1 they'll get negative fanfare. Catch 22 if you ask me...

Good luck with that new device on that carrier and I hope you know you're devices will be updated to the Lollipop regardless of carriers thanks to how the MANUFACTURER coded the update process.

Tibits will just keep flaming. Send emails to media posting here at this forum will not help. In fact I'll write a email tomorrow to NY Times. Start another post asking for folks to email to media rather then keep posting complaints to this forum. Let's get it started!

How can I get rid of Lollipop and get my phone back to Kitkat? Why would I want my Android to look like an iphoop?
