Im going to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Is adding the Mexico plan worth it? Im looking to Facebook and make quick calls and texts over a week period.

Anyone have experience with Verizon in Mexico using the added Mexico plan? Worth it? Keep Data Roaming on or off?

Magnumpi, we wish you a fun and safe trip to Cabo San Lucas. The weather is going to be gorgeous there. We understand how important it is to stay in touch while traveling. You can add a $15.00 service to your account and it will provide 100 talk minutes, 100 sent messages (incoming unlimited) and 100 mb of data. You can also take advantage of Wi-Fi when available. You can add the service for your entire billing cycle and then cancel it afterwards. Let us know what you decide.

Be sure to add the plan FOR THE ENTIRE MONTH as the rep suggested... that way you'll get the entire 100 minutes, 100 outgoing texts, and 100mb data. Event though you'll be there for only a week, if you pro-rate the plan for one week the amount of data an minutes and messages will be cut to one week - 25 minutes, 25 mb, 25 texts....

Do exactly as @SuzyQ says. If you are planning to use your phone even a little bit when traveling out of the US, the risk of the extremely expensive overage fees is not worth not getting a plan. Be warned, get the plan.

When we see people come on here with $5,000 bills after traveling, it is because they wanted to save a few bucks and not get the plan and though what can a few phone calls and a few web pages cost -- well $5,000.
