My husband and I have separate accounts and both of us still have Nationwide 450 plans individually. We are looking to combine accounts. He receives an employee discount on his account, so it makes the most sense to move my plan to his account.
I am currently out of contract and eligible for an upgrade. He still has a year left on his contract.
Customer service said that in order for me to complete an AOL to his account, we would need to switch to a More Everything plan because the Nationwide plans are no longer offered. If we switch to a More Everything plan, it seems like it would make sense for me to upgrade with Verizon Edge to get the $25 line discount rather than using my standard 2-year contract upgrade beforehand, and then having to pay the full $40/month line fee after we switch. She said I wouldn't lose my upgrade, but I've read about people losing their upgrades with an AOL because you are agreeing to a new contract at that time. Has anyone dealt with this before and knows the best process to make sure it goes smoothly? I am also trying to make sure I avoid activation/upgrade fees if possible.
Thanks!
