I need help. My daughter swiped the incorrect pattern on my son's new phone, so he entered the PIN he programmed but his phone says the PIN is incorrect. He used his birthdate so I know he is entering the correct PIN. Help
With some phones if you turn the screen off and turn it back on there is a quick second it'll show your home screen. If your fast enough to click an app before the lock screen comes on you can get into phone without having to unlock, then you can just change the password in settings.
Thanks, but tried that and his phone is stuck on Type PIN. We only have 2 more times and then he will have to do a hard restart. He's only had his phone since Thursday, so not a lot on there other than contacts.
I think it just gives you a timeout on the failed attempts. Hard restart won't change the length of the timeout. My stepson used some numbers on his pin once, when he went to unlock it it wouldn't work. I looked at it and on the last number he accidentally hit one next to it instead of the one he wanted. What I would try doing is enter the pin and when you get to the last number try the numbers around it that may of been accidentally entered instead of the one he wanted.
We only have 2 more times to get the PIN right and then he will have to restart. Cross my fingers this works
Really - which phones have this horrible security loophole? I want to avoid them at all costs. If something like this does come up, this would need to be fixed with a software update pronto.

First off, before you try random things that are going to erase the phone, you need to let us know what phone you have. For example, if it is an Android phone, there is the option of using password recovery with the Google account.
